Fuel has been in our blood for four generations since Joe’s grandfather, William Arens, started his own company in 1937, delivering coal and wood to the residents of the Copper Country.

Keweenaw Petroleum started in a little room in Joe’s basement with just him and a few employees, one of whom still works here today. Keweenaw Petroleum is the largest it’s ever been and continues to thrive.

Being a family-oriented man, Joe enlisted the help of several of his kids to keep the fuel business the family business. Joe’s oldest daughter, Christi, runs the office and keeps everything running smoothly. If you’ve ever called the office, chances are Christi was the one to answer the phone and help with any of your questions or needs. Joe’s eldest son, Bill, runs the diesel shop and keeps the fleet of trucks going, ensuring you always get prompt deliveries. With the help of Joe’s other sons, Jon, Tony, and Randy, Keweenaw Petroleum is always ready when you need us.
