Three generations, with the fourth taking over!
For three generations, the Arens name has been delivering reliable fuel to the residents of the Copper Country. Our story began with my grandpa, who started delivering coal and firewood to Keweenaw residents. When my father took over the business, he noticed a shift towards fuel oil furnaces and added fuel oil to our offering. I have fond memories of spending evenings and weekends with my dad, learning the ropes and soaking up his entrepreneurial spirit.
As one of eight children, I always knew I wanted to follow in my father and grandfather’s footsteps. When I saw an opportunity to expand into propane, I took the plunge and purchased a truck.
It was a humble start, with some challenges along the way. I kept grinding away, adding employees when I could, investing in equipment, and always ensuring our customers were cared for. Keweenaw Petroleum Services’ commitment to customer service is at the heart of everything we do – it’s what has kept the trust in our name going for over three generations.
Now, some of my kids have joined the Keweenaw Petroleum Services team, and together, we are continuing to grow, innovate, and adopt new technologies to continue providing excellent family service.
